Fading Memories IV (Private Collection)

Introduction

By trade, I am an accomplished banking professional who thrives on variety and complex initiatives requiring leadership, ingenuity and creativity.  Outside of work, I am a photographer.  Growing up, I would marvel at the photographs in LIFE magazine and vowed one day to own a camera with a lens collection.  I accomplished that goal many years ago and haven't stopped since.

...three photographs by Dana Flynt, from her Fading Memories series, elevate blur to another level. Domestic landscapes are recognizable from 25 feet away; approach them and they modulate into meaninglessness, like a memory degraded to a shred of an image.

An image from Raleigh-based Dana Flynt’s ultra-blurred “Fading Memories” series subverts its subject, a pink building, to its blur. The blur is the subject.
